Someone who is a realist believes in scholarship through experience. Ro universeticism can be summarized as emotional, ghostlike…a modern day hippie per say. “Editha” by William doyen Howells and “An accompaniment at bird of night Creek” by Ambrose Bierce lay a romantic involve of warfare with a naturalistic view of war. Both short stories romanticize war albeit in devil different settings. “Editha” takes place during the Spanish-American war in 1898 and is the bosh of a young girl who sends her contendr to war. “An Occurrence at Owl Creek” takes place in Alabama during the civic struggle and is the drool of a man who learns the hard way. “Editha” is a story that can easily anger anyone who has ever displace somebody they love to war. She is in love with the idea of war and the noblesse of war. She takes the reader on a journey into her gullible thoughts and nutty romantic notions.
